Air-piston vibrators require a quick-acting valve to start and stop. The valve can be a manual type, activated by hand, knee or foot. Or it can be an electrically controlled solenoid type activated by a switch or push button. The valve should be located within ten feet of the vibrator(s).
All models should be controlled by means of an FRL (Filter, Regulator and Lubricator). The filter helps keep the air clean and dry. The regulator allows adjustment of the air pressure to vary the force and frequency of vibration. The lubricator injects lubricant for the moving parts. (A lubricator is not required for air-piston vibrators in which the vibrator is specially coated.)
Air-cushioned piston vibrators are recommended for use in hazardous areas and are ideal for atmospheres containing explosive dust, vapor or gas. A proper explosion-proof valve to ensure safe operation in hazardous areas must activate the vibrators.
Features:
+ All air piston vibrators come with mounting hardware and port protectors or mufflers where needed
+ Body made of alloy steel or ductile iron
+ Honed to precision tolerances
+ Many are incorporated with enough additional material for re-boring up to two times and refitted with an oversized piston for repair
+ Pistons are hardened using a Nitro Fusion process for longer wear resistance, better corrosion resistance, no distortion, improved fatigue strength and excellent sliding properties.
